Mark Vitow partners with The Early Careers Foundation
One of our company values at Mark Vitow is ‘ambition’. We strive for success in everything we do and value achievements above anything else. But unfortunately some people experience barriers to success that have nothing to do with their talent or hard work. Family background is a still the key indicator of a person’s future financial success. This shows that social inequality remains a huge problem in the UK.
We are proud to partner with The Early Careers Foundation, a social mobility charity whose mission is to ensure that young people are not unfairly disadvantaged by their background. This fulfills our commitment to Positive Plumbing™, our initiative that promotes positivity within the plumbing industry and beyond.
Mark Vitow staff will have the opportunity to mentor young people from low-income backgrounds. They will volunteer one hour a month to share learning from their own careers and act as a positive champion. Staff will receive specialist training, enabling them to perform this role with confidence. This partnership will not only impact young people’s lives and future employability, but will also be rewarding for our staff.
Rachel Pead, Director of People and Operations shared, “Both employee engagement and charitable giving are central to our strategy and operations here at Mark Vitow Ltd. This partnership will enrich employee experience, providing the opportunity to become an ECF Mentor, whilst championing social mobility and education. Keen to recognise talent within our organisation, we wholly support talent, not background, determining career success. We hope through our partnership with the ECF we can help to inspire the next generation of professionals.”
Our team have a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to share, so we are excited to see how this partnership unfolds over the coming months. We will share an update once our Mark Vitow mentors are up and running!
